The road leading to towns in Lofa County are deplorable, but that is not stopping politicians and presidential candidates and their campaign teams from venturing into the County to get their fair share of the votes. The latest presidential candidate to seek support of the Lofaians is the standard-bearer of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), Alexander B. Cummings.
A press of the ANC statement issued in Monrovia, September 25th, says after touring Margibi, Nimba and Bong counties, Mr. Cummings and some stalwarts of his party including its Chairman, Mr. Lafayette Gould, were received by thousands of partisans and supporters who stood under the rain dancing and chanting slogans of victory in Voinjama, Lofa county.
Speaking to partisans and supporters of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) in Voinjama City on Friday, September 22, 2017, the Standard Bearer of the ANC promised the people of Lofa of good road condition and improved agricultural activities as President if elected come October 10, 2017, the statement said.
The Standard Bearer of the ANC who reportedly spoke passionately to the people of Lofa county also promised to bring back the Liberia Produce & Marketing Corporation (LPMC), established to promote local Liberian produce. “I say to the people of Lofa, we will bring the LPMC back to live in Lofa County and make Lofa what it used to be,” the statement continued.
Mr. Alexander B. Cummings also named good health care, improved educational system, running water amongst others as priorities he will deliver to the people of Liberia including Lofa County when he becomes President.
While in Lofa county, the Standard Bearer of the ANC visited Zorzor, and QuadiBoni districts reaching major towns and villages where he also received the support of the citizens in those areas as they expressed joy for his outreach to them.
